I hope to return next year xx - September 2023 We have had four stays at Stoneleigh in different bungalows and I can honestly say Coome View has been the best so far. Spotlessly clean and very well equiped. we have had an enjoyable week visiting the beautiful donkeys. We can also reccommend the carvery at The Bowd Inn near Sidmouth - September 2023 Great week even with abysmal weather. Went for a dip at Lyme Regis and Sidmouth. We visited Teignmouth and Sheldon, Honey Farm and the Donkey Sanctuary. Played lots of games. Thanks again for the use of your chalet xx Coombe View was perfect, with lovely sea views. We had two morning swims in the sea at Jacobs Ladder, two rainy days and lots of walks. We have very much enjoyed our say. Thanks - Liam and family xx Aug 23 Enjoyed a lovely 2 weeks holiday in Pebbles. Bungalow was very clean with all mod cons which was much appreciated. Donkey Sanctuary is great ,spent a few happy hours there. Also Sidmouth with it's range of independent shops & the quieter Seaton are well worth a visit. The bungalow had everything we needed and was extremely comfortable, making it the perfect place to stay. We would love to come back. Thankyou. June 2022 We left your cottage yesterday. Thanks for the stay it was very enjoyable. We really liked the cottage and location. Beer was our favourite town but all were good. We also loved your dvd collection and enjoyed watching Hidden figures and The Help. The kitchen worked very well. We were surprised that we never needed to top the meter up with any pound coins. The key lock was a bit fiddly. But eventually we made it work. We would come and stay again but we generally like to go somewhere new. The location was excellent though so close to the local seaside towns. Peter. As before everything was perfect, and a special thanks to the cleaner who had done a fantastic job ( would have passed four in a bed inspection) . I can say that we had a fantastic week together. The location is perfect. Thank you for letting us have your cottage as we made some lovely memories and my son and his wife will always remember where they celebrated their milestone birthdays. Dianne, Sheffield August 2021 Kittiwake Cottage is set in a quiet location with lots of beautiful walks right nearby. It was nice to sit outside or have the patio doors open. Inside the kitchen is exceptionally well designed with a great oven, a dishwasher and all equipment you could possibly need. The bedrooms and bathroom are clean and comfortable with plenty of storage. The decoration throughout is bright and modern and sofa comfortable; all conducive to a relaxing stay. - Aug 2021 We had a great week at Pebbles. Lovely place to stay with very comfortable beds. Would definitely revisit. First time visiting this area, struck gold renting Pebbles, very clean. Loved the peace and tranquility. Will be back, thank you. August 2021 The bungalow was so comfortable. Yes, really enjoyed it. Clean, comfortable, lovely location. The only slight criticism I'd have is the lack of wifi. For me it's not a problem as I chose it for a nice quiet holiday away from social media, but some people may see it as an issue. One of the things I found that was really good was a book on the shelf at the front, by the table, of short walks around the area. Helped me find a new beach! We were very comfortable in Starfish, very well equipped and clean. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend. A friend came to stay unexpectedly for part of the week, so it was nice to have company. We went to all the local places, Lyme Regis, Beer, Branscombe, Seaton and Sidmouth and of course the lovely Donkey Sanctuary. I hope to go again one day. I have been going to the area , usually staying at Birdsong for quite a while so I know the area well. Shame donkey sand was closed but honey farm was open which I love going to and also the beach was good. We also enjoyed going up to Aylesbeare common an RSPB site for the nature. Loved sitting out back of starfish in the sun where it was so quiet. Shame its not a bit more nature friendly a few years ago the grass was allowed to grow and there was loads of butterflys and bees on it. More bee friendly bushes especially outside starfish to give a bit more privacy would be good, but its lovely and I'm so glad to know about it. Carol and Roy July 2019 We enjoyed our walks around and visits to the donkey sanctuary. Our dog had about ¾ of an hour walk early mornings and about 20 mins in the evening around the edges of the various fields. On the Monday we did manage to walk from the sanctuary to the sea at Weston Mouth, after the long uphill walk we collapsed in their restaurant to replenish ourselves and the dog. Sept 2018 We enjoyed our stay very much and enjoyed the donkey sanctuary and made use of the hopper bus - August 2018 Cannot recommended Kingfisher enough. Had a fantastic week at Stoneleigh. Everything you could wish for in a self catering cottage, and more. Location couldn't have been better. The donkey sanctuary next door was a highlight, and a beach within walking distance (slightly longer walk on the way back!) made a great holiday even better. Perfect summer holiday! - Jade and family August 2018 - We both had a brilliant time. The chalet was clean & comfortable. We love Sidmouth and the donkeys at the Donkey Sanctuary. We hope to be back another year. Thank you. Pat & Jim. June 2018 Overall was very clean and had everything you need plus outside picnic table. The cottage was quite small but enough space for 1 dog and 2 people, and the bedroom was comfortable. If you like peace and quiet this is for you, with no shop or pub, although these facilities are not too far. Reception was open 2 hrs a day but never used it. Lovely area with plenty of walks and of course on the edge of the donkey sanctuary ! Enjoyed the holiday which suited us but maybe not everyone ? They are such calming and humble souls. Thankyou for sharing Cornerstone with us. September 2017 Stoneleigh was a great place to stay for a lovely holiday. When we arrived it was tidy and clean. The Donkey Sanctuary was beautiful, it was a treat to hear the sound of the donkeys in the morning. My sister and I especially enjoyed going to the local sweet shop in the town centre. We both had a great time using the toys in the outside storage locker. Sidmouth also has a lovely beach where we spent most of our time. Sidmouth is a lovely place and we'll be back again! Thanks for the warm welcome of tea, biscuits & flowers. We have enjoyed our stay & exploring East Devon. One of our highlights was seeing the fox and badger. It was one of the best holidays I have had for a long long time, we are totally smitten with Sidmouth and your property, was just perefect for myself, my hubbie and our 2 year old little girl....she absoulutly loved taking her dolls for walks around the bungalow grounds and it was so quiet and importantly car free so safe. The play ground was an added bonus the swings were a real hit. We had a lovely week. Pat August 2011. Thought the kitchen was well stocked with equipment, some places you stay at only give you 4 plates, 4 dishes etc . We had a visitor nearly every night around 9ish from the fox, which was fantastic, and being so close we managed to make a few photos! Also all the birds that came to visit as well. The facilities at the site were average, shame about the swimming pool not being finished, but the boys enjoyed the play area and we did use the laundry. Overall a good holiday. Accommodation was as we would have expected, clean, tidy, comfortable, functional, good value and especially, dog-friendly. Suffice to say we were very sorry to leave.
