Fun for Kids

One of the biggest attractions in the area is right next door. The famous Sidmouth Donkey Sanctuary is open all year and is free to get in, with pleasant walks, a restaurant and of course lots of cute donkeys which the children just adore. There is a barn where you can meet some of the donkeys in residence and informative films and displays, all of which is completely free and just 5 minutes walk from your cottage.

Sidmouth is only 10 minutes by car, where there is a lovely swimming pool suitable for families, and the pool is right next to the sea, so you can combine a safe swim with time on the beach. There are some great family days out within 30 minutes drive of Stoneleigh. Pecorama is every train enthusiasts dream with spectacular train rides overlooking the sea at Beer. At Seaton you have a tramway, which takes you along the valley of the river Axe, and to the village of Colyton where you can see the village from a horse drawn wagon. For a more adventurous day you could try Crealy Park which has all sorts of rides and attractions for children of all ages.
